Anne Schmidt was raised in Waupun, Wisconsin, where from an early age she began expressing her love for music through musicals, swing choir, and her family’s local church. After her father’s death at age 16, Anne found Christ in a deeper way when asked to do back-up vocals on a gospel album. The music she sang about didn’t match her life; it was here that her transformation began.
Anne’s love for the Lord and music followed her into North Central College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she sang in a group called “Heaven’s Praise “. The group toured on behalf of the college in the U.S. and Canada. Upon returning home to Wisconsin, she married the song writer who touched her soul and heart, Gene Schmidt, together they have been doing music ministry for as long as they have been married.
Anne’s passion is leading in worship, she delights in taking people to that place where their cups are filled with a portion of His sweet Spirit to help carry them on life’s journey. She’s mastered the ability to develop intimacy with God through learning to soak in the secret place of His presence. From workshops, conventions, to your Sunday Worship Service, Anne brings an intimate expression of worship that brings comfort and hope.
Anne and her husband Gene were founding members of the Contemporary Christian Band “Rapture”, then years later, “Remnant ” , (Indieheaven.com/remnant). Both Anne and Gene work for Hand of Help Ministry; (handofhelp.org/ handofhelp.com) an outreach for Romania’s orphaned and poor.
Gene’s gift is in songwriting, and together with Anne they continue to write and perform their music where the Lord leads them.
Gene and Anne have 3 sons and reside in Southeastern Wisconsin.
